Who should be Bermuda's next National Hero?

Dame Lois Browne-Evans was our first national hero, but whose life should we be celebrating next? Government is now seeking input from the public on who our next national hero should be. September 30 is the deadline for submissions. Check out www.communityandculture.bm for details, but in the meantime, here are some people who could be considered for the honour. DR. EUSTACE CANN
A progressive, compassionate and courageous politician of the 1940s, 50s and early 60s—and a revered physician—he backed women’s suffrage, the fledgling labour movement and full voting rights for all Bermudians, regardless of whether they owned property or not.
